We always stop here at at the Freddie’s next door on our way out of town headed west. The Steel Penny has friendly staff and is always clean. The restroom stalls are a little short, but they are fully tiled, well stocked with tissue and soap, the stalls have secure locks that indicate occupied/vacant, and the floors, toilets, and sinks are very clean. The store itself has the basic convenience store snacks, drinks, and car/travel necessities, but is mostly filled with a lot of local niche Texas products and boutique things like candles, cups, shirts, and candies. Most things are reasonably priced for a convenience gift shop—perfect for a last minute Christmas or birthday gift grab.
